Council Purpose

The purpose of the Alumni Advisory Council is to create mutually beneficial partnerships between Concordia St. Paul, its alumni and current students; and to promote the mission and promise of Concordia University, St. Paul.

Membership

We are excited to roll out the the Alumni Advisory Council, which has been restructured in order to develop an organization that meets the continuously changing needs of our Alumni Association. We are currently looking to add members. Members can participate on the council committees via face to face or virtual interactions. All appointed Alumni Advisory Council members are required to attend the kick-off meeting in late August of each year. The FY'17 meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2016. 

Applications for the Alumni Advisory Council are accepted year-round.  Accepted applicants will be appointed to the council in July of each year.

Jeri Bates (’91)

Membership Committee Chair

Jeri Bates (’91) graduated from Concordia in 1991, with a degree in Social Science and Communication. She began working in the recruiting field as an Admissions Counselor at CSP and has been in recruiting/Human Resources ever since. Jeri has supported recruiting for Fortune 500 companies such as Mortenson Construction and Xcel Energy, and is currently a Senior Recruiter and Talent Acquisition Team Supervisor for St Jude Medical in Plymouth, MN. When she is not working, Jeri enjoys being involved in politics, play volleyball, am a volunteer docent for the Anoka County Historical Society and spend as much time with her nephews as possible. “I look forward to my continued work with the Alumni Advisory Council as we establish new practices and new people in the support of Concordia.”

 

Emma (Dahl, ‘11) Bica

Student & Alumni Connections Committee Chair

Emma (Dahl, ’11) Bica is a Marketing Communications Specialist at PeopleNet in Minnetonka, MN. At PeopleNet, Emma is responsible for the coordination, planning and execution of all tradeshows, conferences and events that company participates in, as well as internal events that PeopleNet hosts including an annual User Conference for upwards of 2,500 attendees. Emma also manages and monitors all social media accounts for PeopleNet. Emma has hosted a session at EXHIBITORLIVE (the Annual Training Conference for Trade Show Exhibit & Event Managers) since 2013, has co-presented at Cvent Connect since 2014 and has participated in numerous webinars on behalf of Cvent and CrowdCompass.

 

Dave Langemo (’94, M.A. ’07)

Developing Connections Committee Chair

“I am always proud to tell others that both of my degrees are from Concordia: my 1994 BA in Music Education and my 2007 MA in Organizational Management.”  Working in various educational venues throughout the years, including eight years at Concordia, Dave has been with Augsburg College since 2009. He is now their Assistant Director of Advancement Services in the Institutional Advancement division.  In his free time, Dave enjoys traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with loved ones.  “I truly love Concordia and look forward to my role on the Alumni Advisory Council so that I can support my alma mater with my knowledge and experience.”

Ashley (Roiger, M.B.A. ’13) Parker 

Communications Committee Chair

Ashley (Roiger, M.B.A. ’13) Parker is a 2013 M.B.A. graduate from Concordia University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales & Marketing from Rasmussen College. She currently works for a Red Circle a marketing agency, as a Digital Account Supervisor and Website Project Manager. Her 10+ years of marketing experience comes from work at agencies, corporations and vendors. She has held positions at both Target and Best Buy. Focuses and experiences include email, social media, display, SEM, website analytics, strategy, weekly print and digital circulars, project management and so much more. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her husband, taking their Yorkie Poo dog on walks, surfing the web, running and reading. “I am extremely excited to be a part of the Alumni Advisory Council and put my marketing and education passion to use! I am also excited to meet all the committee members and get to know and learn from one another!”

Naomi Stohlmann (’98)

Awards Committee Chair

Naomi Stohlmann ('98) received her bachelor's degree in K-12 Physical Education and also is a LCMS trained Teacher of the Church. While at Concordia, Stohlmann was a two-sport student-athlete in basketball and softball. Her experience at Concordia, led to opportunities to teach and coach at the middle school, junior high, high school, and collegiate level. Stohlmann has spent this past year researching innovative strategies for coaching, recruiting, and player-coach relations while seeking a collegiate coaching position. Currently, Stohlmann serves as an Event Sales Manager for Goldy's Locker Room. In her free time, Stohlmann enjoys spin class, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. She's enjoyed staying connected with Concordia by attending events and serving on the alumni council. “I am most looking forward to collaborating with fellow alumni on the awards committee to implement ways we can build on recognizing the great accomplishments of our graduates!”
